This is not any government's job
Governments are the only institutions large enough to reduce risks for any yet identified extinction cause. Yet governments are not even listening; it is not in anyone’s job description to do anything at all. No group with the legitimate power to prevent human extinction is selecting and preventing risks that have been identified. To date, the media blitz has neither recommended, nor initiated, any actually funded and proven effective mitigations to any extinction risk. None at all. Zero. Don Quijote is not even jousting a windmill.
Unfortunately, it is probable that none of the multitude of noble philosophical awareness efforts have been able to motivate any fix: absolutely none. Governments are not effectively addressing the bewildering and overwhelming plethora of outputs of philosophers’ uncoordinated theoretical mind exercises and vivid imaginations. Without mitigation, managing extinction risk is at a dead end today. Governments are disconnected from extinction.
